the order process
When you are completing the order package, follow this checklist for a fast, easy order:
- Fill out the order form. Remember the preference sheet on the third page: it will help us to know what you like best!
- Send one or more photographs of each child. Please number the photos in the order you prefer us to use them, and we will do our best to accomodate your preferences.
- Put all of the photos (and the order form) in a photo mailer or cardboard envelope. Mark it clearly with "PHOTOS: DO NOT BEND."
- Remember that once your order has been received, no changes are permitted. Any special requests must be made at the time of the order.
photo guidelines
Picking out the "right" photo can be difficult. Sometimes, photos may look great by themselves, but they will not work well with our portfolio pictures. The best way to get a beautiful portrait is to send in several high-quality photos of each child so that we can choose the one that looks best.
All photos should be of children, ages three to ten. The best pictures are crisp, clear, and have a face at least two inches in diameter—the bigger, the better! (5x7's and 8x10's are preferred.) Try to find photos without unusual head angles, such as "over-the-shoulder" poses; they are more difficult to work with. School and portrait studio pictures work best. The children in the photos should be approximately the same age, or with the boy being no more than 1-2 years older.
You can scan your photos and send them via e-mail before submitting your order if you are unsure about them. We charge a small fee ($10.00) to return photos if we cannot use them to complete an order. Otherwise, all photographs will be returned when the order is complete.
If you are unable to send original photographs, scanned photographs are also acceptable. However, the scan must be of excellent quality.

All new orders require a $150.00 artwork fee—the commission to create the first portrait. After it is finished, you may order prints, invitations, keepsakes, and more.

Checks and money orders must be made payable to Picture Yourself Graphics. We assess a $25.00 fee for any returned checks.

You can expect to receive your portrait in four to six weeks. Please add 2-3 weeks if you are also ordering invitations, thank-you cards, and/or keepsakes. We prefer that you order at least three months in advance of your wedding date, or the date you plan to use the items (such as invitations.)
Rush orders are available for portraits needed within three weeks or less from the date we receive the order. A $35.00 fee is required for all rush orders, in addition to any additional costs for expedited shipping. Other items may or may not be able to be produced in less than three weeks, and additional rush charges may apply. Please contact us for more information.
